A family member passed away on Thanksgiving at this hospital, and the doctors and nurses on staff could not have been kinder. Although he had been ill for some time, the rapid decline was very difficult for his longtime partner. The physician caring for him in the ICU was exceptionally patient, communicative, and compassionate with her throughout the week, which offered some comfort during an overwhelming time. While certain areas of the hospital—particularly outside the ICU—appeared as though they could benefit from more consistent sanitation attention, our experience with the ICU team itself was very positive. Having supported another family member who waited in the ER for over 17 hours before being seen by a doctor, I can understand some of the lower ratings. Still, having visited several ER settings over the years, including at well-funded Main Line hospitals, I genuinely believe that many of the low reviews reflect broader systemic issues related to short staffing and funding rather than a lack of dedication at this particular location. I do not know the names of the doctors and nurses working in the ICU this Thanksgiving, but they deserve 100 out of 5. They were kind, competent, responsive, and compassionate. Both the ICU team and the general reception staff treated everyone involved with respect during a difficult week, offering kindness, grace, humility, and compassion while working on a major holiday. That deserves recognition. Thank you Jefferson Torresdale!

That's terrible that this hospital has only a 1.9☆. I drove myself in on Tues Nov 18, 2025 very early morning bc of excessive swelling in legs which I thought was do to bad knees. But w swift care from everyone there it was my ❤️. Lucky for me I didn't just take a wait & see. Everyone except 1young lady(she just showed me to my ER rm not pushing me in my wheelchair since I was in pain & don't normally use 1) was every repectful, informative & patient with me. I don't know what you all expect from health care workers. They ask you what's going on, they tell you who they are, they tell you what tests are needing to be done & the results, then give you any meds you now need, they tell you to follow up with certain Dr's bc of the results & any other tests that you may possibly be needing. The kitchen staff did their jobs well, only comment 🥚 not a favorite here, blueberry pancakes yes please & TY everything else from them over my 4 day stay was fine. 1st & foremost it's a hospital that being said the food is fine. I wish I had gotten the name of young lady who cleaned my room while I was in observation she seemed to be there day & night she is wonderful ❤️ I asked for writing materials & w/I seconds gave me a pen & paper booklet & asked if I wanted coloring materials to calm myself which I found quite nice. It's people like her & a couple of my nurses on observation & my cardiac floor again I wish I wrote their names down (you know who you are over night & start of day" God bless you" for picking this profession & loving it & what you do cause it shows). As for the many Dr. I saw they were all fine as they should be here at Jefferson. But as usually its the nursesing staff that I was in contact w & asked most of my questions to over those long hours in my 4 day visit. The only complaint I have is w mgmt when are you gonna give this place a fresh coat of paint! Please change the color that will make you want to puke. To all the staff that helped me during my visit, Thank you! Happy Thanksgiving

This was the worst emergency room I have ever visited! I entered at 11:23pm and at 5:56am and still wasn’t seen by any doctor so I left still in severe pain and also with the same issues I walked in to get care for I was the nurses and doctors there did not do there job nor show any compassion for the patients they were doing nothing in the back rooms but playing on their phones and sitting down multiple patients left after hours of sitting there and received no help for any problem! They left and elderly lady in a wheelchair by the outside door for hours while another person was so irritated by the long wait that he pulled his own IV out just to get someone to do something. I saw nurses sleeping on the job and god only knows what the doctors were doing. I DONT RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL FIR ANYONE THAT IS TRULY LOOKING FOR CARE OR TO BE CURED. This was an absolute disgrace…

Outstanding Care at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital We recently had to bring our baby to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. Dr. Kenn Raha Kayaba Ghaffarian, DO, our attending physician, was incredibly professional, compassionate, and thorough. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure we felt comfortable and informed at every step. Nurse Chris was equally amazing — kind, attentive, and so reassuring during a stressful time. You could tell he genuinely cared about our baby’s well-being. The entire Jefferson Health–Northeast team, from the front desk to the nursing staff, showed exceptional professionalism and warmth. Everyone worked efficiently, communicated clearly, and treated us with empathy and respect. Thank you to Dr. Ghaffarian, Nurse Chris, and all the staff at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital (10800 Knights Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19114) for the excellent care. We are deeply grateful and would highly recommend this hospital to any family seeking top-quality, compassionate medical care.

Brought in by ambulance with a heart episode and was sent to the waiting room for 14 hours. Never saw a doctor. This hospital is a joke. Zero stars. Disgustingly filthy. Staff hanging out talking actively ignoring patient requests. Phoned and left a message for a patient advocate as well as sending an email to the COO of the hospital. No one has replied as of 3 days later. Do not let an ambulance take you there for anything life threatening. Do not choose this hospital if you value your health. They do not care.
