i had SUCH an amazing experience here! as a 17 year old girl trying to figure out my sleep situation the nurses were MORE than just helpful! my nurse jayden was by far THE best nurse i’ve EVER had in any clinic/hospital setting, he would crack jokes and was SO kind! he made a scary experience fun and made me feel so at home! all of the nurses i met did! totally recommend and very child friendly!!! definitely one of my best experiences at a clinic! thank you to my nurse and the nurses who helped me!

Please educate your staff on people first language. Was there for a sleep study with my daughter and a staff member mentioned how she had a "downs boy" before us. Disrespectful way to refer to an individual. "Boy with down syndrome" would have been more appropriate or just not referring to another patient at all. The other staff member was very respectful and nice to work with. Would have been able to give a better review had it now been for the other person.

I appreciated their approach to helping my daughter when other providers failed, but the diagnosis of this sleep disorder gets dragged out for years before their is some real answers. If money is not in the research the research moves slowly, and the result is that children haven to wait for accurate diagnosis. But in respect to Narcolepsy Cataplexy which can be or is inherited the medical history of the family seems to really not be considered, because my daughter has narcolepsy cataplexy as I do. But it is not diagnosed as Narcolepsy + Cataplexy but Hypersomnia, because of age? I am really not clear and need more discussion on it, but like I have stated it is diagnosed within the process of re-evaluation's and a lot of time can go by with out any diagnosis of it and help or attention to the struggles of Cataplexy. Which is when the brain just shuts down and then will shut down the body and there is no medicine, my success has been through food and mineral nutrients and the other resources for adults need's to be legalized, that is what keeps me in the game of life, our children have to get older so they can then help them selves and that is the crux in medical care, but the knowledge when gain about how to help ourselves; our knowledge is key.

I was deeply disturbed after my appointment. After expressing my concerns and telling the doctor my situation, she immediately suggested benzodiazapenes (xanax, klonopin, etc) for my child who is not even 2 years old. Instead of first suggesting X,Y, & Z, the doctor said this was the best way to handle my son's night terrors. When I pushed back, she got defensive and said "You have these problems and this is what will help." If you know anything about these HIGHLY ADDICTIVE AND DESTRUCTIVE pills, you know exactly why your child should not take them. OF COURSE my child will sleep through the night when he is heavily sedated... I was extremely disappointed because I was hoping to gain skills, tools, information, etc on how to help my son, I was not looking for a "quick fix". I would NOT suggest Dr. Hoyer or this sleep center if you are struggling with sleep terrors. They will push pills and sadly some parents do not know what else to do except trust these "professionals". I struggled for over a year and was so excited to meet with the doctor because I had tried just about everything I could. CBD oil is the only thing that has stopped my child's night terrors. If I go 2 days or more without giving my son the CBD oil, he will start having episodes again. You will get more support and education on a Facebook support group page than you will here!

I'm so grateful for this clinic and Karen Hoyer. She really helped get my daughter sleeping throughout the night without needing to let her "cry it out". (No judgement for those that use that method, it just isnt for me) She also was great about not pushing her own ideas of what perfect and the best sleep is. Ultimately it's what works best for you and your child and she recognizes that, but also explains that a good night sleep for both really is the priority.
