I visited Dr. Alexandru Spulber (At Advent Health Pulmonologist medical Group (in Hendersonville NC)), for a second opinion regarding my sleep therapy, as I felt my CPAP settings were incorrect. Instead of investigating my clinical concerns, he was very dismissive and insisted my machine was working fine. Most concerning was that Dr. Spulber told me my sleep complications were "in my head" and unrelated to sleep apnea, essentially dismissing my physical symptoms as a "mental health issue." He eventually increased my pressure slightly, but only after I demanded it, and he told me while doing it that it wouldn't help. He had a bad attitude and refused to genuinely help a patient in need. I am leaving his care to return to my previous provider who actually listens. I do not recommend this doctor.
I’ve had a lot of good experiences at this office, but my experience with Sharon Kast , NP yesterday was THE BEST. I hadn’t met her before yesterday but she has been there for about a year. She was so warm, engaging, friendly, supportive, affirming, and validating. She worked with me to come up with a realistic goal for the amount of sleep science says it’s best for me to get. She was kind and informative and a joy to be around. I hope she will be my provider there for a long time to come!
