From Battle Creek. Treated on 10/6 and 10/10, for a deep back abscess. I am a retired nurse. I found their care to be very thorough, professional and caring. Great to know a small Upper Michigan community has such a great place for Health Care.
Excellent care givers in rhe ER. Nurse Connie C. and x-ray tech Greg both were very thorough, caring and pleasant, making sure they asked all the right questions and provided a very calming experience. Dr. Alterie was also very thorough on his examination and subsequent discussion of his findings. There is no doubt that all the staff we.came in contact with were very professional and caring in regards to their patient's needs.
Throughout the year I’ve been to this hospital myself and with my girlfriend and her very sick mother. There’s a nurse who throws her patients around and snaps in their faces yelling be booo be booo! Very rude nurse, doesn’t care for her patients.
Had an infected cyst on abdomen. Was being treated with antibiotics , but it got HUGE! went to ER Friday after thanksgiving last year (better late than never review). Was treated by Dr. Cutlip. The entire staff, nurses, doctor, were terrific. My only concern is the lack of privacy in the ER, there are only curtains separating the patients from one another and you can hear everything. otherwise, top notch little ER
My daughter was sick for a week with a sore throat, congestion and fever. We took her to her pediatrician at home (downstate) before we left. They swabbed for strep, it was negative and they sent us on our way. We knew that something was not right- we even called back to our doctor twice before leaving to go to our cabin in Newberry. Her doctor dismissed it as the “common cold” and said she would have to wait it out. She was in so much pain. We decided to take her to Helen Newberry Joy health center once we arrived at the cabin and within 15 minutes we were seen by a very skilled nurse practitioner who discovered a double ear infection. She prescribed an antibiotic and within a few hours of the first dose, our girl was back to being herself. We have been so impressed with Helen Newberry Joy! Would totally recommend!
