McDowell Hospital is clean and very well run. Reception was very polite, well mannered, and informed. The procedure was a breeze. The PA and his assistant made me comfortable. Despite the injection being in my ankle, there was no pain. We all laughed when they finished the procedure.
I had a visit to the McDowell Infusion Dept (with gals who are always lovely to me, wonderful staff) but the check-in experience for me today was 5-stars! I was greeted by a very pleasant person then taken immediately to an open cubicle where a well-mannered and professional gentleman, not only gave me directions but physically showed me to the department. Triple thanks to all the staff I dealt with today!!! Great customer service!
Everyone at Mission McDowell has been wonderful from check-in staff and nursing, to the physicians. Great experience all around maybe I won’t wait 12 years to get my next mammogram. Thank you for your professional and empathetic service.
If I could leave one star I would. I came to this hospital by ambulance a few days ago. I had woken up and discovered that I was unable to move my lower body without being in excruciating pain. I have had babies and C-section's, nothing compares to the pain I was experiencing, nothing. The hospital staff seemed far more concerned with the amount of noise I was making than with helping me. If you aren't allowed to scream in pain at a hospital then please tell me where it is appropriate to do so? Being lifted on a sheet and tossed back and forth between stretchers caused me to wet myself I was in so much pain. Then they discharged me and I was in no better shape. Perhaps worse after all of the traumatic movement. I was given a weeks worth of muscle relaxers, that's it. I couldn't even go to the restroom on my own. They didn't so much as offer me a bed pan or a clean hospital gown. They left me soaked in my own urine right up my back. I could not move the lower half of my body a fraction of an inch without screaming in pain. How did they expect me to function on my own? All I have is a roommate, no family. There are stairs leading into my home! I told the hospital staff about all of this and they did not care. It took EMS 2 hours just to get me out of my home on a stretcher. Thankfully, I was able to borrow a wheelchair from a friend. The pain of movement from wheelchair to car once again had me wetting myself. I'm going to have to pay to have the car interior cleaned now. How do you discharge someone from a hospital when they have no control of their bodly functions?! I had to stay at a local hotel, (I am so thankful 🙏 for their kindness) because I couldn't get into my home. This was the most painful and humiliating experience of my life! Shame on you McDowell hospital! You should never shame someone who is begging for help and screaming in pain. Your lack of compassion shows that you need to find a new line of work. I'm thankful I had a friend with me to witness this cruelty.
My mother in law was rushed to this hospital from a nursing home not far from here.my husband and I traveled here from Tennessee so we could be with the rest of the family, here. The care my mother in law is receiving is wonderful. The doctors on the floor, the nurses involved and yes even the wonderful CNA’s. They’re also training students and we are all very satisfied with the overall care from this facility.Thank you all for your prompt, courteous care.
