This hospital is always the best! They have great ppl and do an amazing g job with both kids and for parents alike. The parent room down stairs is AMAZING and a great addition to help calm and decompress us parents when our kids are at their worst. Thank you for adding this the massage chair there is insane best ever and I’ve been in some pretty nice ones. Thank to every one at TCH CO. Springs
Charlie my daughter’s nurse was amazing! The rest of the staff was great as well. We had some waiting to do because of short staffing but that’s to be expected during cold and flu season. They took great care of my daughter while she received her infusions. I am very pleased we went to Children’s Hospital for my daughter’s care! That all the staff from checking in to leaving for your excellent patient care!
We love this hospital! This time our stay was in the NICU, and although the circumstances weren't what we expected, the staff and experience overall was extraordinary! Every single nurse, doctor, and staff member exceeded our expectations. Every single person was always asking if we needed anything, and they were more than willing and compassionate to help in any way. They welcomed questions and had complete knowledge and expertise of each procedure/decision. They openly accepted our decisions and cautiously cared for our sweet baby ensuring that our newborn had top of the line care. We have been to many different hospitals over the years as we have had each of our kids, and this by far was our favorite stay and best experience! These people love what they do and that makes all the difference!
I usually don't write reviews on places but this needs to be shared. I brought my daughter to this location on the night of 9/26/24 at around 10:30 pm. We obviously caught them on a bad night as the wait was about 5 hrs before we arrived. Quite some time passes before we are brought back to a room. My daughter is in extreme pain and sobbing. She's complaining of a backache that just won't go away. She had already missed 2 days of school about a week or 2 before I took her in because of it and then it disappeared. Very strange but part of the story. A doctor came in to examine her and is trying to figure out what is going on. By this point it's about 3 or 4 am. At 6 am she comes back to say that her shift is almost over but she wants to do a ct or MRI. She asked me my thoughts and we chose an MRI because it shows everything and not just the surface like a ct does. We have to wait until 7 when shift change happens. My daughter is taken for the MRI around 8/9 am (we've now been at the hospital almost 12 hrs). I ran to grab something from my car while she was getting her MRI because I couldn't go in. When I come back, my daughter is on oxygen and no one would tell me why. Everyone was ignoring my questions. I called the nurse in because my daughter was struggling to breathe even with oxygen. She grabs a doctor and they call a respiratory therapist. Well now I'm starting to panic but again, my questions went unanswered. My daughter has been asleep this entire time because she's exhausted from the pain in her back and from sobbing all night. I'm assured that she is being monitored and we are waiting for the results of her MRI so I nap with her. I woke up because my gut told me she had cancer. By now the time is about 3 in the afternoon. It's been about 16 hrs now and we still have no answers. Another doctor comes in and tells us that he's asking for a blood draw to check for everything like sickle cell, any type of disorder and disease to include cancerm I said that was fine because I wanted andwers. I never saw him again. Time passes and another doctor comes in. She tells me that my daughter would have to be transfered to Denver because they couldn't care for her and an ambulance was coming. My daughter was transferred to another room more equipped to handle her needs which was very scary. Then MRI results come in and her care has been changed to critical and a helicopter is now coming for her. I was scared because I was by myself so I frantically call my husband (he worked nights at the time and did come to see us before going home to rest), who comes rushing over. Only when the helicopter comes does the doctor inform us that our daughter has leukemia. It's now after 5pm and I'm angry that it took roughly 18 or 19 hours to find out what was wrong and I was scared for my daughter. Only a helicopter large enough to hold her, 2 nurses and a pilot was sent. She's crying hysterically asking what's wrong with her and why my husband and I can't ride with her. She has the most amazing flight crew who reassured her over and over that we would be following her but that she needed to go before us because doctors were waiting for her. We watched in angst as she was loaded up. The pilot said it would take 23 minutes to get her to Denver while it took us over an hour due to rush hour traffic. She was sent to the PICU. An amazing doctor came to talk to my husband and I about why she was there and asked if anything had been explained to us which had not been. He took the time to draw pictures and explain everything thoroughly. Our daughter remained in the PICU for roughly 5 days before being transferred to the oncology unit. There she was treated so much better and had the most amazing team which we will forever be grateful for. As of 7/4/25 our daughter is in remission and we couldn't be happier. I am however still exceedingly disappointed in how we were treated. There should have been no reason why we or anyone else in a similar situation should ever wait that long to find out why their child is sick.
Staff was awesome. Accomodations not so much. Had a over night stay with my 8yr.old was set up in a room with no bed or recliner. One plastic chair hard as hell. Wasn't offered a blanket or pillow. Needless to say I didn't sleep. All of this is unfortunate because the staff Doctor and nurses were over and Above in there care.
