They spent 5 minutes showing me a mannequin with equipment on for the sleep study. Then handed me the equipment to use and said there were instructions in the bag. Then they wanted to send me on my way. I had to stop them to ask questions. The instructions enclosed weren't helpful.
I wish I could give negative stars. After waiting over a week to hear back from them about setting up an at-home sleep study, I called their office. After being on hold for 12 minutes a receptionist answered, but didn't give her name. She was very rude and then hung up on me without providing any help or information. Now I don't even know what the next steps are.
Just like all of the other reviews left for this clinic, they don't return messages or calls. Which makes things unnecessarily difficult when trying to fill a prescription for a cpap. They don't care at all about your health or well being. Avoid at all costs.
My experience here was bad, like everyone. The children running the sleep study made noise, all night. It was impossible to sleep being that we are all there with sleeping issues. If you don't get a response, don't be afraid to call your own insurance for help. Be abusive on the phone, if needed. These people are bad at their jobs and don't deserve the respect we would show to others. They were very slow to get my machine. I had to call and complain . When I finally got it, the "prescription" for the machine was the factory default. Maybe that's all I needed, but my expensive machine had all kinds of comfort features that were disabled. These were very important in trying to get comfortable with the machine. You have to. CPAP is awesome. I would have saved thousands and had the SAME PRESCRIPTION if I bought a CPAP machine on eBay. Who knows, the eBay person might send out a fully set up machine with good settings? The ijc home health is very expensive for supplies, even with insurance. Again, eBay will save you money. If you need a full mask, use the memory foam mask for a few months. It's comfort is awesome, but it doesn't last. Use 3-4 of these, then move on to the plastic mask and it won't bother you. Their hospital at 5400 and State is amazing. My dr's there were awesome, but the sleep doctors I saw were bad and the department feels like an insurance/Medicare scam. With that said, force yourself to use your machine as it's life-changing after a few weeks. Just be sure and use online support to help you.
Stay far away from this place if you can. It has been 3 weeks since I did a take home sleep apnea test. I've called their office and left messages many times. Never have gotten a call back with my results or how we should proceed. I can never speak to anyone directly, always have to leave a message. I was hoping my experience would be different from the other reviews, but unfortunately wasn't the case.
