This is my 3rd ER visit after several weeks. I have a severe spine injury that is causing a sciatica. I can't stand for extended periods, I can't walk, and I can barely go to the bathroom. I explained to them that I can not take care of myself in this state and there are no caretakers available for me to hire because I'm not a senior citizen. They drugged me and sent me home. I can not cook! I can not bend down to feed my cat! I can not sleep! They tossed me like I was rubbish!
My husband recently had a total knee replacement with Dr Kym. We live in Lewiston and I have to say the staff at the hospital went above and beyond to answer all our questions. After surgery they were attentive and constantly asked how his pain was. After he got home they once again went above and beyond. Sherry the Orthopedic coordinator called to check on him daily. We had a hard time getting his pain under control and she not only told us how to get on top of it but then followed up twice a day for 3 days. Coming from the Valley Gritman and their Orthopedic team was outstanding. We wont hesitate to use them again if necessary.
Not a fan of the $1298 in nursery room charges. I requested for my newborn to be taken there after I didn’t sleep for over a day and felt unsafe to care for him properly. They said they would take him shortly and then either forgot about me or blatantly chose not to come back. I wasn’t checked on for hours that night. They took him for his 24 hour check up and that’s probably where the charges came from, but I should’ve been able to fully utilize something I have to pay for. Maybe there was an emergency but the birthing center needs to be staffed adequately enough to have people to care for all the patients no matter the circumstances. Aside from that part I had an overall good experience. I had excellent nurses when they were available and the rooms are spacious enough to have a couple visitors comfortably. I also had good experiences with the lab throughout my pregnancy.
So I ended up having to go in twice due to colitis. The first time, in the ER, they had me for about 4 hours, and the second time was when I was admitted to the main hospital for about two and a half days. Both times the staff was very helpful, they didn't raise their voices or anything, and were overall calm and helpful, and after that my colitis had ended up significantly improved. While I may not be looking forward to the medical bill, it's not the hospital's fault for whatever the prices may be. They're there to help, which they do a really good job at doing, not discern the base prices for everything.
I went to visit a friend here and upon walking in the front door, I was greeted by friendly, smiling 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 staff. She was very helpful and sent us on our way....Her directions were perfect. When we arrived at our friend's room, her door was closed, so we went to the nurses station and they told us what was happening and it would be just a few minutes. When the nurse was done attending to our friend, we were greeted by a smiling nurse. All was well, our friend was being well taken care of. Before the nurse left the room, so we could visit, she helped prop up our friend and fixed her pillow, so our friend was comfortable. We asked our friend, how was the care there. She was very happy with her care here. She was leaving shortly to go back to care facility. When we left, we stopped at the nurses station to let them know we were leaving and the nurse said she would go check on our friend, before we left, the nurse got up and was on her way to check on our friend ❤️. Lots of free, close by parking lots. Nice gift shop. Nice seating area, while you wait. Great signage to get you where you need to go. They also have a place to eat/drink, Courtyard Cafe.
