Horrible experience. Starting with the doctors and continuing through the nurses and CNAs, I would never recommend this place. The doctors are too busy to sit down and talk with families. Instead, they send members of the surgical team who are unable to answer specific questions. My daughter’s incisions were not healing properly. I am not a doctor, but I knew something was wrong. I raised my concerns multiple times and pushed for them to examine her more closely. Each time, I was told that this was simply how her body heals. Eventually, I refused to go home and insisted they take another look. When they finally checked more thoroughly, it resulted in emergency surgery. On top of everything, the nurses are not taught to be compassionate or understanding. Parents are going through incredibly difficult times—they are sleep-deprived, barely eating, and constantly worried about their child. Every professional nurse should know how to approach these situations, but that was not the case here. Only a few nurses showed genuine care and respect. Others rolled their eyes and talked behind our backs (RC.5) If you compare OHSU in Portland to Seattle Children’s Hospital, OHSU is far more professional and family-friendly. They take the time to connect with families and listen to their concerns and wishes. Unfortunately, our stay here felt unwelcoming and cold.

The nurses were 5 stars but doctors assigned to us were 0 stars. Useless visit. Nothing could be diagnosed. My kid had very obvious allergy symptoms after taking the first antibiotic for his fever. It was out of business hours so we went to urgent care first. The doctor there gave us new prescription for antibiotic (thankfully, will talk later). Then they sent us to Seattle Children’s for possible Kawasaki disease. During our whole visit, we never saw the doctor. The other obviously new staff (we don’t know if he is doctor or not, but he is not the main doctor assigned to us) had no his own opinion. He kept checking with the never showed up doctor when we had questions. And the never showed up doctor insisted on keeping taking the first antibiotic even though we confirmed twice. We can’t imagine what will happen if we kept letting my kid taking that. It may cause severe medical accidents. The doctor also refused to give us the diagram he showed with us, which helped to better understand how to diagnose Kawasaki disease. We finally used the prescription from the urgent care, and my kid got better. See, we have to make our own decisions, because their diagnosis was completely misleading and wrong. Very disappointed with this visit. Especially the doctor.

This was overall the best hospital experience we've had in the US. Our 20 month old daughter broke her arm just before bedtime. The intake system at the emergency department was efficient. All of the providers were really gentle and sweet with her. The only negative feedback would be: 1) We brought our daughter in in her car seat and were forced to wake her up during intake to take her weight (as a provider myself, a ballpark weight is important for pharmaceutical purposes, but they could have asked us her weight or held on this as long as possible. 2) we got in at 830pm and didn't leave until 130am. Emergency room is not easy and getting things all aligned to get someone in and out of the door with initial presentation, radiology, orthopedic isn't easy, but this could be something that is worked on.

My son recently had oral surgery at the Bellevue clinic, and we had a great experience. We usually go to the Seattle location, but the Bellevue clinic was really wonderful as well. All of the staff were nice, welcoming, and very friendly. They answered all of our questions and took the time to explain the after-surgery care clearly and patiently. We felt very supported throughout the whole process. Highly recommend!

Our daughter was transferred here from our town hospital (3 hours away). The staff here in Forest B Floor 8 are tremendously welcoming, sweet, understanding, helpful, caring, gentle and just awesome. The surgical team, anesthesia team, pre op team, post op team are wonderful, kind, gentle and caring. The whole hospital is clean! Staff from other areas of the hospital seem welcoming and kind. This is our first time here and experiencing what we are, the staff are amazing!! Nothing but good to say. ❤️💜💙💚💛
