My wife appointment was at 1pm. Upon arriving 15 mins early there was a notice that said ‘at lunch until 1:30pm’. My wife then filled a complaint asking why did they schedule appointments on lunch breaks? Simple right? Well the complaint was then given to the nurses treating her while she was STILL in the office and the nurses started giving her sass saying ‘you were the girl who filled the complaint.’ Then the front office followed up and denied that they had told their nurses about the complaint while my wife was still there. Unbelievable! How hard is it not to schedule appointments when no one is working? How unprofessional is it to then send the complaint whilst my wife is still in the office? Crazy

I've been with MMG since birth, so that's saying a lot. In the central valley, they've since expanded with a second clinic in Kahului. My most recent discovery is their new Same Day Clinic at their Wailuku Clinic which handles exactly what the name implies. I was quickly able to get an appointment after sending an inquiry online on a Sunday, the very next day. They have an onsite lab and pharmacy.

Maui medical group is the worst. First, their women’s health completely left. Then they cancel appointments left and right from other doctors that leave with no support and follow up. The fact that the turnover on doctors is so extreme is a testament to how they run their business. The customer service is absolutely terrible. I have been going to Maui medical for nearly 10 years and I’m so disappointed. I do not recommend their facility for anything.

It's Saturday morning and I have a really deep cut on my right hand from last night, it looks like it should have stitches to heal properly. I drove up to Maui Medical Group Urgent Care and parked in the fairly empty parking lot, went into the office, there was Nobody in the waiting room and four people behind the counter. I was told that they were all booked up but might be able to get me in later in the day, but told me to try Minit Urgent Care where I the same low level of interest in my wound. Where is Urgent or Care addressed here? What a Joke!

A Clinic of Administrative Obstruction, Revolving Physicians, and Negligent Care: I'd give zero stars if I could. I was a patient at Maui Medical Group from 2019 to 2025, and I can say without hesitation that it was one of the worst healthcare experiences of my life. For six years, I endured inconsistent, impersonal, and dismissive medical care, worsened by a chaotic administrative system that actively created barriers between me and the care I desperately needed. The physician turnover was constant. Every few months, I was being handed off to a new doctor who had no familiarity with my case, no investment in my health, and no time to develop a care plan. I live with complex, chronic medical issues, and not once did any physician at Maui Medical take the time to sit down with me, understand the full scope of what I deal with daily, or help me build a path toward stabilization. They rushed through appointments, barely looked up from their screens, and left me feeling defeated and medically abandoned. But what made everything worse — far worse — was the absolutely unprofessional and hostile behavior of the administrative staff. The downstairs “check-in” line is always absurdly long — every time. You could arrive 30 minutes early and still risk being late due to the bottleneck created by poor staffing and a disorganized system. In January 2025, I had an appointment with Dr. Ally and was running tight on time. I refused to wait in the massive check-in line and went directly to my doctor’s office — a common-sense decision any reasonable clinic should support, especially for a regular patient. Instead, a hostile administrative staff member chased me upstairs, interrupted my medical care, and attempted to prevent me from being seen by my doctor simply because I didn’t “check in” through their broken system. She tried to coerce me into signing a legal document without any advocate or legal counsel present — something that is unethical and potentially unlawful. When I declined to sign it without proper support, she lost her composure and began yelling at me, treating me like a criminal rather than a patient. Let me be very clear: Administrative staff are not gatekeepers to care. They are not doctors. They do not have the legal or ethical right to block access to medical treatment. I told her plainly that if she interfered with my healthcare, I would sue, and I meant it. That is the only reason I was seen that day. But I left that office shaking, anxious, and deeply violated. And that wasn’t a one-time event — every single appointment after that until I left the clinic was filled with dread and anxiety, knowing I’d have to navigate the rudeness, power-tripping, and outright hostility of administrative personnel just to access basic healthcare. No patient — especially one struggling with chronic illness — should have to fight through bureaucracy, emotional abuse, and intimidation just to be seen. While some of the physicians meant well, the system at Maui Medical Group is broken beyond repair. Between the lack of continuity in care, the medical neglect, the hostile administration, and the emotional harm caused by the people meant to support patients, I finally had enough and transferred to A MUCH BETTER DOCTOR— and the difference is night and day. If you value your health, your emotional well-being, your right to informed consent, and your dignity as a patient — Maui Medical Group is not the place for you. What happened to me here should not happen to any other patient. Ever.
