Being admitted into the hospital via ER was difficult experience. The staff was friendly, but I was lined in a hallway with other patients waiting for a room. Once taken to room, the staff was kind. However my clothing was lost in the transit. This is the second time this has happened. Lost items include pants, shirt and pricey shoes. My stay on cardio unit was pleasant. The staff was attentive but obviously overworked as wait time for things we're lengthy.

The care from the nurses was wonderful. The meals were a hit or miss. I didnt learn until later that I coukd have chosen my meals. But I didnt know how. Still don't. My Dr's 3 only one seemed to kniw what she was talking about. Hospitalist thought I had an infection in my neck from a pace maker .. it was in my lower back from a spinal cord stimulator. Yet he told me he read over my report for 20 min. I was cleared by PT to walk etc. Yet I had an alarm on my bed and I stayed in bed without getting up for 4 days. I used the pure wic system and an adult diaper. I did not get a fresh one (diaper or wic) for atleast 36 hours. We are giving some things while we are there like deodorant, toothpaste, etc. It would have been nice especially for folks that are bedridden to get hand sanitizer.

If you are anywhere close. Remeber this phrase, " if at all possible, take me to Baptist South!" I was unable to say this phrase but thankfully, they took me there. Never before have I had such level of care from a hospital that I knew no one that worked there. They literally treat you like family. They want to make sure you are cared for in the best possible way. The staff is so caring and attentive. The doctors listen and treat you like you are family. If at any time in the future if I need care, this is where I will get it.

Pre-op, cvicu, and surgical team all fantastic. 2nd floor icu Trace, Meredith and Brennan were exceptional. Melissa the patient care tech was a jewel. Transferred to 6th floor. Amanda and Katy were great! Some staff not as friendly. Food was inedible. Smelled sour. Even one of nurses agreed. Husband had to bring me peanut butter crackers and boiled eggs. Kitchen couldn't offer me anything (I am diabetic). So nurses gave me graham crackers and some peanut butter. I only ate 1 meal. I wasn't expecting a gourmet meal but I was expcting edible food. The anesthesia team were truly a blessing. So caring. I think the board of directors should pay a surprise visit and try to eat the food. Especially the mystery meat, English peas and 1/3 of a potato meal or the thumb size piece of chicken and pasta meal. Other than food was pleased with Baptist South staff. Thank you.

My experience was unacceptable. I was brought into the hospital in pain, and my room and bathroom were absolutely filthy—there was stool on my bed and the bathroom had visible dirt and grime. Staff showed no compassion or urgency about cleaning or addressing my needs. I felt disrespected, unsafe, and traumatized. No one should have to endure that kind of treatment.”
