Pulmonary and Sleep

I was attending a sleep study with my spouse and I have to say it was the absolute worst. For starters, my spouse was given another person's intake information to fill out by her attendant. The attendant not only ignored my wife's requests for more air in her face mask but physically and emotionally abused her. My spouse has documented neurological issues that the attendant should have read. The attendant not only didn't read the intake information (That it took 30 minutes to be given to) The attendant chastised and blamed her for her discomfort! My spouse was having a health episode that caused her to be confused and disoriented. If the attendant had did her job and read her information, they would have saw she was in distress. The attendant also lied and said that my spouse wanted to end her test and gave her a form saying so. That was another lie. My spouse wanted to continue but just needed an adjustment to her air flow. And to add insult to injury, The attendant forcibly removed her leads and stickers from her body, ripping parts of her hair from her head,scratching her on her temple and pressing hard down on her neck and shoulders. And then said that she can leave now, all after assaulting my spouse and prematurely ending her study. This was a horrible experience and the attendant needs to be reprimanded. My Spouse did not get the care she deserved and was abused both ways. And to add even more insult, The attendant threatened my spouse with having to pay TWICE for her service!! We want vindication and retribution for this grave injustice.

I was emotionally, verbally and physically abused by the 66 year old female attendant. I live with chronic conditions and need a caregiver with me at all times. The attendant continued to complain about my caregivers presence and him trying to help me. We were following our training to intervene when I'm about to have a seizure or am confused. She spoke to My caregiver in a demeaning tone and scolded him and even said she called her boss because he is not supposed to there. She tried her best to get a reaction so she could have a reason and we gave her NONE!! I informed the lady that 5 pressure is not enough because I have seizures and I'm choking . Please I need more air, please I can't breathe. This woman said, I'll give you more air when you stop moving and he stops moving and he can't have his breathing machine. I have a neurological condition and get confused, make movement and was confused and was yelled at. I use certain sounds at night to help and was denied. She stood over me and was intimidating me and snatching things!! I also have chronic pain, bone issues and need heat device and was denied. So I spasm alot and my nerves never turn off t's extremely painful. I had to sit up at times to unlock. I wear hearing aids but can't there. I could barely hear and I'm struggling to move my body. And am in medical distress. I have to frequently go to the bathroom due to loss of control and that frustrated her even more. Then she leaves it dark and I need light because I'm a fall risk. This 66 year old female abused me because I was struggling health wise and obviously didn't read my medical account and I refilled paperwork with the information that night. IM REPORTING THIS !! This woman just kept storming in the bedroom when I was Sitting up or moving or gently speaking with my spouse for a tiny amount because I'm in distress. To make matters worse she storms in the room and slams open the door. Stands over me scowling and I'm confused as to why I'm being abused. She accused me of bothering her, being upset? and disturbing others because she had to come back and forth No She didn't! Have to do that. We were the quietest people there! There were TV on in other rooms and people laughing loudly! This woman three times threatened to stop the study if my caregiver speaks to me and denied him helping me medically. So, I asked her what will it cost me to stop the study. Because I'm having trouble can I please have my medicine and medical intervention and she snaps! This woman said she is calling her boss and threw me out!!!! She begins pitching a major tantrum, slamming doors, and screaming at me and told me I needed to leave!! Not only that she yanks my hair out!!!! I'm actually holding my hair in my hands. Shes snatching leads off of me she's snatching my hair out!!! She's screaming because I'm taking the sticky pads off because she already took the leads off. She brings me a document to sign that says " i refuse the sleep study?" And I wrote that "I did not request to end my sleep study." I was abused and threatened and thrown out!!!! I could not defend myself and had a seizure in my car after. Before leaving I quietly took pictures of the room, so she can't falsely say we broke anything. All of My medical conditions are documented. I was denied any and all medical intervention and became sick, having a hard time walking and chest pains and very confused and disoriented. Lady you threw me out and lied lied lied now I have to pay twice!! That's awful how you abused me because I was sick and in pain. At 66 years old you will eventually need help and I hope you get YOU for a caregiver. I needed my study and you took that away from me. I'm down 200-250 dollars you abused me!!! Not only that I was so confused that I didn't recognize that she gave me another patients medical records and I was writing on it. Rebecca! Whoever you are this women discussed your medical information with me!!!

I highly recommend Total Sleep. From the beginning to the end. The process was easy. My Tech was professional, very experienced, informative, very kind, compassionate. She made me feel heard. She also made sure I was comfortable. The facility was easily accessible. It was very clean. The suite I was in, was hotel style. It had a private bathroom, it was spacious. The bed was very comfortable. It felt like memory foam. Usually for me memory foam is not comfortable. I usually require pillow top to get a good night's sleep. But this bed was very comfortable. I went right to sleep. I do not have one complaint or critique. I'm grateful I chose Total Sleep in Vestavia. It was a breeze.

I can smell sounds lol this cpap changed my life! Total sleep is ran stupidly efficient. They are also immensely kind. Jill Sluder deserves a promotion and pay increase. She was very helpful and answered all my questions. 10/10 recommend!

I am a Holistic Practitioner so by nature, I attempt to solve problems without medical intervention. My obstructive sleep apnea was so bad, I had to seek help. Total Sleep was recommended to me and I am so glad I went this route. I felt like I was in a hotel room, not a medical procedure. The staff was awesome! Ashley (sleep tech) was an angel! The facility was spotless and professional. I'll be recommending Total Sleep to all of my clients who are showing signs of needing a sleep study. Thank you!
