My Son was transferred to Artesia, MS to work at the new aluminum steel mill plant. He became very sick & in need of medical care, since he was new to the area, I googled and found North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. Our experience was superior there compared to other ER’s we’ve been to! They were quick on their feet & eager to diagnose his illness, which turned out to be a very severe case of strep. From the time we walked through the doors we were treated with such respect & importance. When they entered the room they all addressed him by his name, that stood out to me, they didn’t see him as just another patient but as an individual. I wish I knew all the names of everyone who cared for my Son, from the receptionist, the medical assistant, NP (Madison), Bloodwork (Kenneth), x-ray, security guard to thank them personally. Maybe they will see this review! Thank you from this Momma’s heart. August 9, 2023
My boyfriend and I went to the ER on 07/03/23 around 7:00 and I kid you not waited 1 hour 45 minutes until we were called back. We were seen to promptly once back there but we waited on a quick five minute result for 2 more hours until we saw the doctor. He was attentive and great but we spent all this time to see him for maybe 3 minutes. He let us know his treatment and we waited over an hour more until leaving out of ridiculous frustration with an IV still in his arm. We spent five hours for literally nothing. I’d rather die at home then go here to wait then die in the d@mn waiting room
This is the best hospital I have ever been to everything was good until the older white security guard(who his his name tag and gave me a false name) abused his power and used the security cameras to look inside my car while I was just sitting in it!!! I did not know that N.M.M.C. hired that kind of person! I have been here 3 or 4 days and haven't been bothered by anyone but him. He gives me the creeps !!!
The nursing staff was excellent, but the travel doctor who treated my father during his stay was rude and incompetent. We requested a transfer to another facility and she informed me that if I wanted my father moved to another facility I could check him out AMA and put him in my car and take him myself. When my father was rotated out of her service and into the service of the next internist, he was immediately transferred to Tupelo where he received a much-needed higher standard of care.
Very disappointed! They were very disrespectful to my 87 year old father that I left with my mother who has dementia; moreover, whenever I was tending to business in another town I called and was met with opposition from one of the ER staff as to what room my mother was in, and threatened by the person with the local authorities for an issue that I had on the treatment of my elderly father! I addressed that person and reminded them that they were on speaker phone and there was witnesses present they stopped talking over me like I had previously requested. I don’t believe they are astute enough to distinguish the difference between dementia and Alzheimer’s at this facility. They are very inept on how to treat family members of their patients, well I hope that is the case, or maybe they promote this type of ominous, and belligerent behavior and just plain don’t seem to care how rude staff is with the public. If I could give negative feedback or stars on this review I would give this hospital a negative 👎 five stars!!!
