Outstanding treatment and service. I have had 2 sleep studies and a titration study done at this place and every time it was an extremely pleasant and professional experience. The entire staff is superb. Professional, kind, and courteous. Appointments were super easy to make. The rooms were clean and spacious. The beds and linens were comfy and clean. Each time the technicians explained everything to me in detail and answered all my questions and were always very respectful. Meghan and Monique genuinely cared about my health and getting good results from the studies. They put me at ease and answered all my questions. They were quick to assist me when I needed help and never did I receive anything but excellent treatment. They are true professionals and a credit to the medical community. I highly recommend Sleep Disorder Center Of Panama City.
If I could give a zero star review, I would! Unprofessional, Uncaring, and Still Sending Me Bills for a Test That Was Never Completed I was referred to this sleep center by my PCP in 2022 for a sleep study. I picked up the at-home device, completed the test to the best of my ability (I only slept 4 hours — which is exactly why I needed the study), and returned the device a few days later. Then I was told my insurance wouldn’t cover the test because: 1. I didn’t sleep long enough (again, the whole point of the referral was that I wasn’t sleeping), and 2. I didn’t return the device “fast enough,” even though no one ever explained there was a strict 3-day window. The worst part? They never completed the study or gave me any results — yet they charged me $700 and have continued to send me bills every single month for a test that was never actually done. When I called recently to ask for help or set up a payment plan, I was told my account had already been sent to collections last year — which makes no sense, considering I still receive bills directly from their office every month. When I tried to explain my situation and ask for help, I was met with cold, unhelpful responses. The staff and office manager made it very clear they had no interest in my health or well-being — all they cared about was getting paid. I felt completely dismissed, and as a Latina with imperfect English, I also felt discriminated against and not treated with the basic respect any patient deserves. There are other sleep centers in town, and I strongly recommend going anywhere else. Even if it means a longer drive, it’s worth being treated with compassion. I would never return to this place and would not recommend it to anyone seeking real care.
Id leave zero stars if i could! Very very rude! The lady at the desk attitude is DISGRACEFUL AND DISGUSTING! I walked in my appointment was at 1PM, I got there 12:55PM she immediately said “you’re very early” in a condescending tone. I said okay I’m sorry, with no hi or nothing afterwards she said “Name” I answered, “insurance card and Drivers License” I gave it, she said and dropped the sign up papers “fill this out” I have never been spoken to like that at any establishment let me also say I’m a black woman and why I say this is, 3 other patients walked in white elderly all were greeted with a smile “Good afternoon how are you” etc etc I sat and just observed, I also listened to her talking to an elderly lady whom clearly misunderstood what her appointments were for like absolute crap! “‘Ma’am I’m the one that’s looking at the information I’m telling u”. The technician that came to explain the home study was absolutely amazing very good service. The following morning I returned with the device and walked in again the same rude lady no good morning nothing she took the paper and the device and said very sternly “it’ll take a couple weeks” and walked away. I don’t do google reviews but I had to for here. I hope this places closes down and looses clients unless they address their front desk associate rude behavior
Megan who answers the phone refused to answer simple questions instead densely keeps saying you need a referral. The reason I am calling is they already sent it. Instead of answering my questions, she says referral over and over and over. I never got an answer if I want to deal with them. And I don't! Then she hung up on me. This is suppose to be healthcare? How can these horrible people be employed? It is beyond sickening! Stay away from these horribles!
Initial appointment was easy. I was scheduled for a sleep study despite likely not needing one, as I don't have sleep apnea. But, if insurance covers, why not go. Now comes the issue, they don't seem to understand different hair textures or black and brown people's protective hairstyles, braids, locs, etc. I called to ask if my hairstyle could be accomodated and the person on the phone said "no, whatever is in my my hair will need to be taken out". I know people with my hair texture or similar who have never had an issue with EEGs or similar electrode placements. Not everyone has straight hair, so my question was "what do you do with people with locs?" She said "they will need to be removed, no braids, weaves, extensions, etc". Clearly this person does not know that hair locking is a months/yearslong process that cannot be removed and put back in like that. I canceled, I'll go somewhere else in a bigger city where I dont need to explain this. If you have box braids, twists, or locs, even if they are temporary, just don't bother. Go somewhere else or call beforehand to confirm that they know how to place electrodes on your type of hair.
