My daughter and I had the best experience here on 11/4/2024 from beginning to end! The call I got to answer the questions was easy, the young lady was so nice. The front desk lady who checked us in was very nice, she called me beautiful and smiled. Our nurse Ms. Toni was awesome! She was so gentle, calm, patience, and attentive. Our stay was peaceful for the sleep study. We got our results back on 11/6/2024. Everything was just awesome.
My daughter had to wait 3 months for her sleep study and they waiting until 1 1/2 weeks before her sleep study to inform us they needed to see her in office prior (never informed us prior even when pre sleep study paperwork was completed) now they are saying my daughter cannot be seen until 2025 in office and then be put back into waiting for the actual sleep study. Horrible communication and horrible customer service. I wish there were more options for parents so we didn’t have to use CHOA but unfortunately there’s nothing else around us.
Truly an easy and pleasant experience. The facility was easy to find and easy to park at. Malik was our person assisting us, and he was over the top wonderful. There is clearly joy in his heart, and he loves what he does. If you are feeling nervous, he will make you feel better. The room was fairly clean although I did give it a wipe down on doors and light switches, faucets, and crib siding when I saw the need. Bed was comfortable and large enough for me, and I'm tall. They provide ample pillows and bedding for both parent and child. I did not attempt to watch anything or disturb the process they needed to go through, just went to bed when my child did for thr most part, and everything went great. Bathroom down the hall was super clean and had a big shower if needed. Just so you can plan well, arrival time is 7pm, our bedtime was at 9, although it could have been earlier had our child not needed to eat, and then wakeup is at 5am, and you need to be gone shortly after that. Honestly, a very pleasant and professional experience, and for what it is, I would recommend this lab wholeheartedly.
We’ve had the same experience as below. They don’t answer the phone or bother to return phone calls. I understand being short staffed or backed up but over a month is a pretty long time to wait when your child needs to get a sleep study done. I even sent an email and nothing. I’ve never had a bad experience with a CHOA location before. The worst part is that THIS is where you have to call to set the appointment up, there’s no other phone number. If your child gets referred here, please ask if there are any other options.
I was very disappointed with the lack of empathy and the attitude of everyone we came in contact with during our sleep study. From the moment we walked in, the man at the front desk was rude and made me and my 4 year old Son very uncomfortable. When we went back to the room where we were to sleep, the Nurse was not much better at all. He made us feel awkward and nervous and did not explain things at all. We were told to bring movies and snacks, both of which we weren't "allowed" to use per the nurse. He had the worst bedside manner I have every experienced in my life. My Son had a horrible experience and mentioned to me the nurse scared him. Before we had the sleep study, I was not concerned much at all because of how well Doctors and Nurses at CHOA have treated us in the past. I have always had great experiences here and in fact, when my son went to CHOA urgent care at the same location years ago, he cried when it was time to leave because he wanted to stay. Luckily, my child made it through the night and we don't have to return to the sleep lab, but I felt the entire experience was uncomfortable and the nurses made presumptions about how my child would act and were unnecessarily rude. I went back and forth before I decided to post this review, but I wanted to let other parents know my experience since there were not many recent reviews for me to be prepared beforehand. Hopefully my experience was an outlier and this is not normal. I would not want any other child to feel as uncomfortable as my son did.
