My daughter has dental surgery today, it was supposed to be for 10:40 we got here at 10, it’s 11:20 as I’m typing this. She hasn’t eaten since last night cause they say not to. So you would think they would go ahead and get us in and out so I can get something on her stomach. I also have my other two children with me. And the dentist is taking his or her sweet time. Still haven’t even seen the dentist. My daughter also has severe autism which is why we had to drive 3 hours to come here in the first place. And they’re just dilly dallying along. I’m not even able to give her medication until this is over but they won’t COME ON. Almost 2 hours later I finally got to speak with someone because I asked them to reschedule us because she’s hungry and hasn’t had her medication. Like 3 nurses come, most I’ve seen since I was there. Tells me there’s still a wait which is insane. And tells me if I reschedule I’m gonna still have to wait hours next time. Well what’s the point of having an appointment time? And what’s the point of starving kids all day when you won’t see them until the night pretty much. I’ll find another place
First time here with my newborn. My child vomitted over his bed. I pressed the call light to let his nurse know. It has been more than 30 minutes as I am typing and I haven’t seen his nurse. So I go to the nurses’ station because I can hear them. My child’s nurse is sitting down laughing and playing. I asked for new bedding and told the lady closest to me why and my child’s nurse walks pass and saw Awwh. Not to mention I asked for the milk I had pumped and she comes to the room with the milk more than 30 minutes later cold and said after I warmed it I had to go in another room and then I came in here. She definitely needs to work on her skills and manners. Update : it is now 4:17 an hour after pressing the call light and still no nurse. I haven’t seen his nurse since 3am. The moment I get her name I will definitely post it. 4:27 I pressed the call light for breast milk that I had pumped. A nice lady came and give it to me as the lady was leaving my room she tells my nurse I just gave her. Her breast milk. 5:05 my child’s nurse come in and says hey I was insert I been dealing with an iv for almost an hour. My response was I called for you at 3:17 which is almost 2 hours ago. Then she proceeded to try to get my baby to drink milk. But at this point he has cried so long for his milk he didn’t want to eat.
From the entrance on Saturday to the exit on Tuesday, the doctors, nurses, techs, and cleaning staff were friendly, kind, and caring. They communicated with us about everything, answered our many questions, and allowed us as much autonomy as possible. I truly appreciate their concern and compassionate care. 5 Stars from mom!
The best Children's hospital I love it. I been going here for years nothing but amazing people. So many people blame nurses for not being faster but there trying to help every family that comes into that hospital there are very patient with family and try there best to help everyone. I been there almost my whole life and still go. They will always have a place in my ❤️
My 13yr son was transferred from Merit RO to Batson due to an orbital fracture from being hit in the eye during baseball practice. The entire waiting room was packed out, and nearly all staff were nearing their 7 on 7 off shifts and on final day of rotation, so talk about worn out!! I have had a very pleasant experience with this same son and this hospital and staff before, but tonight our nurse was Matt Burnham was absolutely, hands down the best! He was very informative in anything he was able to be, and did whatever means to find answers for the stuff he didn't know. We were there waiting from 10:40-now 3 am for an on call Specialist to make his rounds and get to our son, but Matt constantly came in and checked on us and my son the entire time! You were definitely meant to be in Healthcare and even better with children and families! Thanks for making a very scary overwhelming night and situation, be a little more at ease with your professionalism and courtesy, regardless of staff shortage, or patients constantly checking in! It's the little things like taking time to communicate even if it's just to say are y'all ok! Wonderful job!
