I am so happy with my treatment at AKNC. They have helped me so much in the last 8-9 years. I see three of their doctors and have never had an issue with any of them. Dr Ellenson is patient, understanding, kind and very thorough,because of his help I have not been in the ER in years! Dr Mulgrew has helped me with sleep apnea and figured out what I needed to sleep through the night. He has been kind and easy to talk to. I feel so much better during the day….it is amazing how much sleep can help a person. Dr Sanchez has been very helpful with my chronic pain. He is understanding, kind, helpful and even makes me laugh. However, the most important thing is that he has helped me live a normal life.

I was referred to Alaska Neurology Center while trying to find a new Neurologist who would assume care. I wanted a provider who would listen to me. I found that with Dr. Henzler, and I am happy I took a chance with seeing him. I arrived and started the visit with a short list of questions I wanted answered, “do you believe x injury caused y diagnosis,” “do I need further testing?”, “do I need medication adjustments?” I prepared a medical diary of my history up until my appointment, from presenting concerns, medications, symptoms, and current concerns. Dr. Henzler listened to my questions, gathered my history and actively charted it throughout the visit, and helped me piece together answers. Because of this, I left the office with confidence that I had finally been heard.

Dr. Mulgrew came into the room and started talking. While I told him what was going on, it felt like he wasn't listening. After about 10 minutes. He stood up and said, " Did you hear all of that?" and a little voice from his chest came out and said, "Yes." and said some other stuff and he had a conversation with her. He didn't let me know there was someone else listening or what was happening. I have been in another time since then and it was just him and I that time. Since then, my pharmacy has sent in request for refills and they have not replied. To the point where I have to deal with their horrible telephone system and nearly ran out of medicine. I hate talking bad about medical offices, but this business seems to be doing everything they can to take your money and get you out the door.

Dr. Woods is the best doctor I’ve ever had. She truly listens and works with you, is realistic, kind, empathetic, and effective all at the same time. 1000000/10, would recommend to anyone needing a neurologist. She is truly phenomenal!!!!! Can’t recommended her enough.

To be honest, the neurology center and sleep clinic as a whole are honestly sub-par and that's being generous. I don't like the idea of talking bad about establishments, especially medical clinics. However, I've made several voicemails and many more phone calls to get in contact to schedule my sleep study done, and none were returned. I got very frustrated with being ignored that I drove here to get my appointment scheduled. Upon arrival, I asked to schedule my overnight sleep study done, and they had my notes all mixed up saying I wanted a home sleep study when I didn't say that, I requested an overnight sleep study. With the confusion, they managed to fix it and get me what I want after the receptionist at check out 3 needed assistance from another receptionist after I'd say 10 to 15 minutes of standing and waiting. My appointment isn't until 2 months later, but at least I got that, yet I'm not even mad about my experience. I overheard that someone drove down probably 45 minutes to this clinic just for not only his doctor to not be there, but not even having a room be provided to him to get the help he needed. This isn't a means to tarnish this clinic but I feel that not only the reception staff but the medical professionals need to be in more consideration of others time and help one needs.
