After a miserable second sleep and nap study, I was Dx with Narcolepsy without Cataplexy. This Dr saw me once and put me on Provigil along with the other stimulate I was taking at that time. After a while I was still experiencing extreme daytime sleepiness. So I went to see him at his Boise location. The appt was scheduled for 11:30am. After sitting in the waiting room forever, I was finally brought back to see him. We were discussing my dosage of the stimulant and the provigil. Somehow I mentioned I was trying to get pregnant. He automatically jumped down my throat regarding taking provigil and conceiving. Stating that one must stop provigil 6 months before trying to get pregnant (which would have been known if he were to have asked me any specifics of my life before prescribing it to me). Instead of educating me about the specifics, he ridiculed me. Then we started to discuss my sleepiness. He asked vague questions, yet I gave him all the specifics. At this point it was 2:30pm. He asked me at what time of the day do I start to feel sleepy. I stated around 3pm. He looked at the clock and rudely said, "oh so about right now? And you are going to get in your car and drive home?" Then he started back at me about the dangers of driving while being tired and went on and on that if I were to get in my car and drive home tired, I could hit someone, and even kill someone or their child and go to prison for murder. I was blown away by his extremely rude and unprofessional demeanor. He did nothing about my medications and I left. I fired him and never went back! It was the worst experience I've ever had with a specialist!
